The Gubb: Woman Mistakes Cosplay For Personality.
Dressing as Princess Leia doesn't make you interesting it has been revealed.
Deborah Ryder of Newark-on-Trent readily dons costumes of her favourite fictional characters. When asked why, as an adult, she insists on partaking in the children’s game of dress-up, she explains it fills the void where her personality should be.
Cosplay (a portmanteau for costume play) is favoured by awkward sci-fi nerds who would otherwise spend their time masturbating over Star Wars. The phenomenon of creating a personal identity via the means of a so-called quirky interest is widespread. It has also been discovered that it’s possible to form an entire persona with an inanimate object. Donald Bridger of Bexhill wears a brightly coloured trilby in lieu of developing a complex set of character traits.
However, it has been confirmed that acquiring an oddball hobby or zany fashion sense doesn’t maketh the man. The same also applies to tattoos, as Mike Branson of Chesterfield attests: “I really wanted to be unique. But the only way I knew how to do that was to ink up. Unfortunately, when I speak to people, they quickly realise that I’m just as dull as they are.” Mike is currently undergoing extensive tattoo removal.
