The Gubb: Man Wins Argument By Saying 'End of'.
Scott Canning of County Durham secures debating victory by refusing to discuss the matter further.
Scott has the confidence to talk about any subject. He will happily delve into topics with little to no knowledge. “I love chattin’ shit. Me mam always said I was born to talk bollocks.”
Initially, his friends thought he wanted to learn about a broad range of topics. But after spending time talking with Scott, it becomes clear that winning the argument is his only goal. “I don’t give a toss about facts so when I’m losing an argument, I’ll just sign off with ‘end of’, like.”
Research carried out by the internet watchdog, Net-web Lookout!, showed that ‘end of’ as a means of bringing discourse to a close increased by 29%. Further findings suggest that the term is favoured by more men than women. The topics more likely to attract the phrase were immigration, gender, the war, and Brexit.
The study also found that sentences which proceeded ‘end of’ were most likely to be, “We should look after our own first”, “There are only two genders” and “God created Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve”.
The above sentences have been corrected for gammony grammatical errors.
